- In the vuewm there is a frontpanel
- The frontpanel is configurable.
- One of the icons on the frontpanel is a mail flag. ( indicator )
- It watches your incoming mailbox.
- I wish to add another indicator, which watches for some different
- status files.
- According to the docos, this is possible ( it sure would be nice! )
-
- Once again the documentation leaves me agog!
-
- man vuewm:
- ---
- INDICATOR An indicator monitors the state of a file, typically your
- incoming mailbox, and changes its image based on whether
- the file has changed.
- ...
- The front panel can be configured for custom installations. (See the
- /usr/lib/X11/vue/Vuewm/sys.vuewmrc file for more information).
- ---
-
- OK so I look in sys.vuewmrc...
-
- ---
- # [ I ]
- # Specifies an indicator control, which will monitor the
- # status of a given file, typically, /usr/mail/$LOGNAME.
- ---
-
- well... am I missing something or didn't they actually mention HOW to
- specify this magical file?????
-
- Anyone know the answer? or is this a mis-feature, ie: they thought
- about it, then they forgot to actually do it, so it got a little bit
- documented, to wet some poor power-user's appetite ( ie: in this case,
- mine ) but didn't actually make it through the coding stage.
-
- thanks in advance
