- Hang on.... Colder air is more dense, so the air mass you move per fan
- rotation is greater at lower temperatures. The cooling effect of air
- is related to the mass-velocity of the air. Therefore it *is* more
- efficient in terms of the fan to blow cooling air into the machine.

- Also, it allows for a filter to be fitted. Most home consumers will
- however forget to clean or change them, causing the system to
- over-heat. We have a washable air filter in the fan of our Motorola
- box and the inside of the machine is very clean, even after 3 years of
- continuous running. It has never required dusting out. The filter can
- be cleaned (monthly) by reverse-flushing with water and drying with
- hot air.

- There are constraints on which direction the fan blows, mostly related
- to $$$$$$. It's more costly to design in a cooling air distribution
- manifold for a variable configuration, than to use the case with holes
- in the "right" place (you know, the floppy disk slots :-( ).
