Currently, X-Comm is being tested on every range of machine including a 2 meg A500, A600, 5Meg A2000 al the way upto my 6Meg A3000. I keep trying to tell peole that that version was a load of SH*T! It doesn't work on half the machines (Mine included I think!). It shouldn't be judged by that version. The current 0.97b version works on ALL machines that it is being tested on. My chief beta tester (Michael Lorant) has an A2000 and it works perfectly on their. I have found tho, that for some strange reason, Pr
ograms tend to crash on some machines and not on others. I have to figure this out. I'm sure Olaf will agree.
BTW, Not to shock anyone, but X-Comm's current executable filesize stands at
about 312K! Sorry to all those smaller users, but it really is time we amigans moved up. We can't keep holding the standard of software down by constantly trying to economise on certain things. Anyway, the last toime I tested it, X_Comm needed about 425K of fast and 111K of chip to run, which should be fine on most peoples 1Meg machines.
