  10. I need to know if anyone has experirnce with byte range locking between two dos
  11. sessions(VMDISK'd) and if it works properly.

  13. I have two identical commercial applications that do a lock on portions of a
  14. database (cc:Mail Gateway), and works very well with standalone PC's on a 
  15. server based system. I am currently
  16. getting random timeouts from one or the other application (for the most part
  17.  the locks work) but sometimes I get a conflict, and knocks one session out.

  19. The only clue I have is that I may not have enough CPU, and one session may be
  20. leaving a lock on too long for the other application. If this is the case, will
  21. the parameters that control TIMESLICE,etc. help?

  23. (I have DOS SHARE loaded in each session as it is require by the app for obvius
  24. reasons...)
