- I'm still using the original LaserJet driver than came with GA, and I have
- no speed problems. If I do a straight "PRINT filename" from the command
- line, I get close to the rated speed of the printer (a LaserJet III, which
- delivers something like eight pages a minute). If I print a document from
- DeScribe, it is somewhat slower, which is to be expected, due to all the
- fancy formatting that a WYSIWYG word processor does, but still not nearly
- as slow as others have indicated, and much faster than the LaserWriters on
- the ethernet around here (they use a serial connection, whereas the
- LaserJet is attached directly to the computer using the parallel port --
- big difference). Could it having something to do with computer hardware?
- Might the driver not work as efficiently on some clones?
