- Yes, this all sounds nice, but I don't think it's as easy to maintain
- as you claim. Who goes through and tests the old binaries to see if
- they work with the latest and greatest kernel, so you'll know it's
- safe to make links? Who recompiles the stuff if it doesn't work?

- I also don't find it any more logical that the latest kernel source
- should be in /pub/linux/v0.97/pl2/source.tar.Z or something versus
- /pub/linux/sources/system/linux-0.97pl2.tar.Z. Maybe that's just the
- way I think, though.

- There are two quite excellent 'base' installation packages out there -
- SLS and MCC, and a few offshoots of those (the sc.tamu.edu and MJ's,
- which I guess is really an offshoot of the basic boot/root combo).
