- I recently installed the SLS disks (oh, and well done, guys!) to my 386SX/16,
- and was fairly impressed that Linux would even operate on my system.
-
- The problem, however, comes from my modem not wanting to respond. It's an
- Everex 2400 internal on COM2. Setting Minicom to use /dev/ttys2 doesn't
- work. The modem simply will not respond to "AT" commands at all. Nothing.
-
- Does Linux have a problem with internal modems? I've tried various parameter
- settings on the modem itself short of switching to another COM line.
-
- Am I out of luck unless I invest in an external modem? (though now would be a
- good time for an external v.32bis...)
-
- Thanks in advance.
