- This reminded me of something quite different I meant to tell folks: in
- the UK the law is that adverts have to say what the VAT rate is, but
- advertisers invariable show ex-vat prices and hide the VAT at the bottom
- in small print. US people who don't normally have purchase tax should
- be aware of this if buying from the UK. Germany is much better in that
- their advertised prices seem to always include MWS - I don't know if
- this is by law, but any time I've phoned Germany for prices, Tax has
- been included. Of course if people from outside a country buy anything
- for export, you should remember to ask for the ex-tax price since you'll
- have to pay your own import duty when it arrives anyway. (This also
- applies within the EEC - each country pays their own VAT)
