  31.                    Salary:  CDN $35,000 to 57,500
  32.              depending on qualifications and experience

  35.         A Computer Modeller/Analyst is required to develop and
  36.         utilize computer codes to analyze the thermal and
  37.         mechanical response of CANDU fuel channels under transient
  38.         conditions.  Immediate work involves the development of
  39.         theoretical models or computer codes to facilitate the
  40.         understanding of the physical phenomena embedded in the
  41.         various experiments, and the comparison of the actual
  42.         experimental results with the predictions.
  43.  
  44.         An advanced degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Nuclear
  45.         Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or Physics is preferred,
  46.         although a bachelors degree with high academic standing and
  47.         relevant experience in research will also be considered.  
  48.  
  49.         A strong background in heat transfer and scientific
  50.         programming is essential.  Additional background in fluid
  51.         flow dynamics, solid mechanics or materials science is
  52.         desirable.  Demonstrated technical report writing and oral
  53.         communications skills would be useful assets.

  55.         The Whiteshell Laboratories is located at Pinawa, an
  56.   attractive recreational/residential community on the banks of the
  57.   Winnipeg River, northeast of Winnipeg.  We are a 1000 employee
  58.   laboratory with research interests in both nuclear and non-
  59.   nuclear activities.  The laboratory has a strong, comprehensive
  60.   complement of in-house support services/facilities and research
  61.   is well supported with advanced experimental equipment and
  62.   computers.
