  11. I looked in Spivak's _Calculus_ and found a similar bogus proof:

  16.    x^2-y^2=xy-y^2,
  17. (x+y)(x-y)=y(x-y),
  18.        x+y=y,
  19.         2y=y,
  20.          2=1.
