- I just recently purchased an 84 318i. Unfortunately, I don't have an owner's
- manual. I'm planning on ordering one from the Local BMW dealership.
- In the meantime, can anyone tell me what fuses do what?
-
- Any help would be useful. When I got the car, the speedometer wasn't working.
- I noticed it go up to 20 once, and hasn't worked since. I'm hoping that it
- is either a blown fuse or a minor electrical problem. The previous owner
- may have disconnected a wire when he removed his stereo system.
-
- Most speedometers aren't electronic (even in BMWs :) ). If this is
- a mechanical speedo then I'd check the cable to the transmission.
- It could be broken, which tends not to be a real expensive repair.
