- there should be multiple sensors; there are two temp senders on
- the thermostat housing in my 1987 Alfa (bosch L-jetronic), one
- a cold-start sender (since disconnected due to an Alfa service
- bulletin) and the other for engine management; one on the radiator
- to control the electric fan; and another (the infamous `thermo-time
- switch') to control the cold start injector. these thermo-time
- switches are notorious on older cars for getting strange, and causing
- the cold start injector to either never enrich when cold, or open
- up for long after the engine ceases to need the extra fuel.

- they're also not too tough to check; you can pop the connector off
- of the cold start injector, put a volt meter across the contacts,
- and find out when the thermo-time switch cuts on and off.
