- To clear this up once and for all ... it appears I have indeed made
- an error in typing in the instructions from SCO Magazine (even tho it was
- right in front of me at the time), and a second error by not checking it
- over thoroughly and catching it before posting the error. My humble
- apologies to the original poster of the question.
-
- The instructions (from the July/Aug 92 issue, pg 18):
- 1: login as root and cd to /etc/conf/cf.d
- 2: edit the file mscsi
- 3: change all references of ad to eiad in the far left column (and save)
- 4: cd to /etc/conf/sdevice.d
- 5: edit the file ad
- 6: change the Y in the second column to a N (and save)
- 7: edit the file eiad
- 8: change the N in the second column to a Y (and save)
- 9: cd to /etc/conf/cf.d
- 10: relink the kernel with ./link_unix
- 11: run eisa config utils and change the mode of the board
- 12: reboot

- A brief note to Chip Rosenthal about his comments on SCO Magazine ...
- altho I do agree completely about not taking this or any magazine as gospel
- (especially considering some of their wrong or misleading technical info)
- I would like to point out to you and perhaps others that some of the info
- in SCO Mag is attributed to come *directly* from SCO Support Services,
- not from SCO Mag's staff writers. Just FYI ...
