- The accessability of not only technical support, but senior product
- management at a company certainly does influence a choice on the
- suitability of a product. If I know I can participate in not only the
- technical side, but also the marketing side of a product, then I know
- that not only the present, but future, directions of the product will be
- in line with where I'm going.
-
- Compare the above situation described above for Microport, with the
- popular conceptions about Consensys (just the reverse -- great price,
- user-hostile support). The perception that Consensys is not a "great
- bunch of guys" has certainly hurt its reputation (witness Eric's moaning
- about his conversations with Consensys people, which negatively affects
- his opinion of the product in his Buyers' Guide).
-
- Bad people can hurt a product, having good people can help. It's
- not the be-all and end-all, but it is certainly part of the package one
- should consider when making a purchase.
