  24. The accessability of  not only technical support, but senior product
  25. management at a company certainly does influence a choice on the
  26. suitability of a product. If I know I can participate in not only the
  27. technical side, but also the marketing side of a product, then I know
  28. that not only the present, but future, directions of the product will be
  29. in line with where I'm going.

  31. Compare the above situation described above for Microport, with the
  32. popular conceptions about Consensys (just the reverse -- great price,
  33. user-hostile support).  The perception that Consensys is not a "great
  34. bunch of guys" has certainly hurt its reputation (witness Eric's moaning
  35. about his conversations with Consensys people, which negatively affects
  36. his opinion of the product in his Buyers' Guide).

  38. Bad people can hurt a product, having good people can help. It's
  39. not the be-all and end-all, but it is certainly part of the package one
  40. should consider when making a purchase.
