- [0]I have a problem with the screen on my model 4. Imagine the sdcreen is a
- [0]conveyor belt. If you were to write on the conveyor belt, and turn the
- [0]wheels on the end, the print would wrap around the the back side of the
- [0]belt. The print on the back is backwards as seen from the front. This is
- [0]what is wrong with my machine. The upper left cornes of the print is

- If the problem is in all video modes, sounds like the video sweep board is
- failing and is starting its vertical retrace before it has drawn everything.
- Unless you happen to find a loose connector, the video sweep board gets my
- vote. It is probably a capacitor on the board that is going bad, but it
- is probably simpler to get a new board rather than diagnose the video sweep
- board.
-
- If it only fails in one video mode (80x24 or 64x16), then I guess the
- video clock circuit on the main logic board is failing. Depending on
- the age of the board, this includes a strange "Christmas tree" modification,
- with several parts soldered together at a point in the air. Make sure
- this hasn't been pushed down against something on the board, and that it
- isn't touching the metal shield. Failing that, U4 a HAL may be going bad.
- The clock circuit on the older Model 4s is real strange and you need
- the service manual to adjust it.
