- [0]I don't know about the Tandy 1000SX, but I have a Tandy 1000A [older]
- [0]that has a hard card in it. Tandy DOES use a different interrupt than the
- [0]normal XT clone. If you need to know badly enough, perhaps I can dig
-
- On the 1000, 1000A, 1000SX, 1000TX systems, Interrupt 2 was used for
- hard disks, while other PC systems used interrupt 5. Some people even had
- drivers that didn't need an interrupt at all. Made sense, as DOS always
- waited until the disk I/O was complete anyway and really didn't need an
- interrupt.
-
- IRQ 5 was used on the early 1000 systems for PCJr compatibility, providing
- an interrupt on vertical sync. A lot of games needed this.
-
- Later 1000 systems provided a jumper so you could decide if you wanted
- interrupt 5 to work like a PC or a PCJr.
