- I've watched our two ELC's have this sort of problem fixed on two occasions,
- so I'll describe it to you. However, I'm not a technician, and I expect
- you'd want to be fairly careful if you choose to do this yourself. Standard
- disclaimers apply...
-
- 0. Read these instructions several times before doing anything.
- 1. Turn ELC off.
- 2. Remove all the screws you can see.
- 3. Remove plastic panel covering most of the ELC.
- 4. Remove screws holding down the metal mesh on top.
- 5. Note how it's inserted around the bronze bit near the top, then remove
- the metal mesh.
- 6. Turn ELC on.
- 7. On (or near, I forget) the CRT there's a pot. You need to adjust this
- _with the ELC turned on_ while looking at the screen. Exactly how you
- need to adjust it I dunno :-)
- 8. Turn ELC off.
- 9. Put it back together. Expect to have trouble getting the plastic case
- back on, and jiggle it a bit.
- A. Send me the standard sun technician's fee ;-)
-
-
- Your milage may vary, etc, etc.
