- WRONG. It works the other way around -- SLC SIMMS will work in ELC's
- but ELC SIMMS will not work in SLC's.
-
- SLC SIMMs are 1Mx36bits. ELC SIMMS are 1Mx33bits. When you stick an
- SLC SIMM in an ELC it just ignores the extra parity bits. If you stuck
- an ELC SIMM in an SLC you'd get parity errors from missing parity bits.
-
- While we're at it -- has anyone succeded in extending an SLC past
- 16MB by using 2Mx36bots or 4Mx36bits SIMMS? I've heard a rumor about
- this, but have'nt heard from anyone who has actually done it.
-
- So, if you've got a working >16MB SLC, e-mail me. I'll summerize.
