- why is xwsh consuming so much cpu time on an essentially static
- screen ? top/gr_top reports it takes 68% of cpu time with
- out any obvious activity on the screen.
-
- This is really odd. I have 4 or 5 instances of xwsh that have been
- running for a couple of weeks now. None has accumulated more than 40
- seconds of CPU time, and even with top running in one of the xwsh
- windows, it is accumulating CPU time slower than top.
-
- I would assume that if there is intensive user drawing, but
- no interaction with the window manager, xwsh activity would be low.
- When the screen is quite, I would also hope for low xwsh activity.
-
- Perhaps someone can explain what xwsh is doing all the time ?
-
- You seem to have tickled some unknown bug in xwsh. If you have any idea
- what caused it to get into that state, submit a bug report.
-
- Personally, I've never seen xwsh get into the state you describe.
