  17. For outgoing calls, it'll depend upon which softare you are using.  For incoming
  18. logins, ``stty pass8 pass8out even odd'' should give you a start in the right
  19. direction.

  21. Unfortunately, getty/login have ``csh'' hardcoded as allowing 8-bit logins, and
  22. with an alternate shell you get flipped into 7-bit for your actual login (i.e
  23. we use tcsh at present).
