  16. A PC running any of the TCP/IP products from FTP Software, Beame and
  17. Whiteside or 3Com should give you the connectivity you are asking for.

  20. Cheap?  Under $400 I'd guess, depending on the cost of the software.
  21. A decent 16-bit ethernet card should be about $200 but I'm not
  22. familiar with US$ pricing for either hw or sw.

  24. I'd recommend BW before FTP software on price alone and on the quality of
  25. the manual.

  27. While it works, I've never been thrilled about the networking
  28. capabilities of PCs and the setup will not be transparent.
