  15. I'm looking for a standard asychronous RS-232 data link protocol 
  16. for use in a transaction processing application on a point
  17. to point dedicated link.  Error detection and auto-recovery
  18. mechanisms are important.

  20. I have heard that there is an asynchronous HDLC protocol as
  21. defined in ISO 3309-1984/PDAD1 - "Addemdum 1: Start/Stop 
  22. Transmission".  I have thus far been unable to obtain
  23. a copy of the ISO document but an still trying.

  25. If any one has info on async HDLC they could share with me or
  26. knows if there is a software implementation, I would  
  27. appreciate the input.  Or perhap you know of some other
  28. suitable prtocol.  Please reply to:
