- I'm looking for a standard asychronous RS-232 data link protocol
- for use in a transaction processing application on a point
- to point dedicated link. Error detection and auto-recovery
- mechanisms are important.

- I have heard that there is an asynchronous HDLC protocol as
- defined in ISO 3309-1984/PDAD1 - "Addemdum 1: Start/Stop
- Transmission". I have thus far been unable to obtain
- a copy of the ISO document but an still trying.

- If any one has info on async HDLC they could share with me or
- knows if there is a software implementation, I would
- appreciate the input. Or perhap you know of some other
