- The OS/2 netware requestor is available. Call 1-800-UPDATE1 for it. I
- ordered it and received it after a 2-week wait (while it moved between
- two companies for billing purposes). It is _not_ buggy, in fact, I've
- not had any problem with operating Fresh Technology's MODEM ASSIST
- program in a VDM, either global or private. Notework mail also works,
- but only in a private VDM.
-
- The global VDM uses global settings, and is slightly off kilter with the
- "total compatibility" issue. A private VDM is entirely, 100% compatible.
- Even the messages which are sent to a private vdm appear as a standared
- Novell line (requiring ctrl-enter), whereas a global clears the screen
- and puts the message in a neat blue box (which can be timed for removal,
- disabled, or require <Escape> by supplying DDAEMON with a parameter.).
-
- As to your network interface, I use a Everex Speedlink PC/16, which is
- not supported directly by the OS/2 requestor. Instead, I was forced to
- download this driver from their support BBS and it works just fine.
- Incidentally, I used this driver under 1.3, and it fortunately worked
- with 2.0 without a glitch. It is my feeling that any network drivers
- used under 1.3 will work under 2.0.
