- Hi,
-
- I have just installed IDA sendmail on my Suns (boy is it great!).
- The only real problem/concern I have is the length of time it
- take to build the aliases (either using 'sendmail -bi' or
- 'newaliases'). On my Sun SparcStation it takes nearly 3 minutes
- for 86 aliases. Most of them are of the type:
-
- firstname.lastname@matd.gatech.edu:accountname@matd.gatech.edu
-
- (These are falling out of my xaliases file since I am doing
- outbound rewriting too.)
-
- The reason this bugs me is that I have noticed (mostly perception)
- that local mail delivery is slower too. Using the Sun sendmail
- I could mail to myself and before I could type 'mail' again the
- message would be there. Now I see a 4-5 second delay minimum...
-
- Any comments? Opinions? (Copies of the m4 file available at
- request).
-
- Thanks in advance,
- Robert
