  14. I have just installed IDA sendmail on my Suns (boy is it great!).
  15. The only real problem/concern I have is the length of time it
  16. take to build the aliases (either using 'sendmail  -bi' or
  17. 'newaliases').  On my Sun SparcStation it takes nearly 3 minutes
  18. for 86 aliases.  Most of them are of the type:

  20. firstname.lastname@matd.gatech.edu:accountname@matd.gatech.edu

  22. (These are falling out of my xaliases file since I am doing
  23. outbound rewriting too.)

  25. The reason this bugs me is that I have noticed (mostly perception)
  26. that local mail delivery is slower too.  Using the Sun sendmail
  27. I could mail to myself and before I could type 'mail' again the
  28. message would be there.  Now I see a 4-5 second delay minimum...

  30. Any comments?  Opinions?  (Copies of the m4 file available at 
  31. request).
