I am running OS8.3(3) due to the ARP bridging problems that are being discussed. (BTW it seemed to be related to SNAP encap and wasnt' there under DIX).
I keep seeing these ARP packets being sent out on ethernet interfaces that show type 6 (802.5 token ring). Although the hardware and protocol address lengths are correct and every one on the network seems to be able to talk together just fine, I wonder if identifying the interface as token ring limits transmission speed on the network some how to 4MB vs 10MB. I've seen Type 1 ARP packets but they seem to be bridged from another network interface.
