  11. I am now the proud owner of a new SupraFaxModem (v32bis)

  13. It's working fine, and I can connect to every BBS with some tweaking
  14. of the AT settings.

  16. But when I try to connect to a friends identical Supra, I have problems.

  18. I'm dialling him, and he's answering with ATA when he gets RING.
  19.  
  20. His modem picks up, and it starts cycling through carriers.

  22. We then get CONNECT 19200, and I get a whole load of garbage for 5 secs. Then
  23. the garbage stops, and it disconnects, saying NO CARRIER.
  24. At his end, he gets no garbage - just no carrier.

  26. We have tried MANY MANY variations of AT commands - e.g. %c0 %m0 \n \n1 \n2
  27. \n3 \n4 &f0 &f1 &f2.

  29. He's also tried ringing me, with similar effects. (He can get onto all the
  30. boards I can)

  32. I don't expect anyone to come up with a full explanation, because of the
  33. sketchy details I've given. But if anyone has experienced similar problems,
  34. I'd like to know. Here is the result of at&v. If you notice anything stupid,
  35. please tell me. My friend sets his modem up so he gets the same &v, but
  36. the same happens. Could someone mail me with THEIR &v, if they've got a
  37. supra-supra connection to work?
