  10. I need to originate dialup calls to an unattended remote modem
  11. by first manually dialing the number on a handset and negotiating
  12. verbally with an operator.  The call will then ring and the remote
  13. modem will answer.  At that point, I need to instruct my modem to
  14. begin its negotiation sequence as though it had dialed the call.
  15. The originating modem has a Hayes command set (it's an internal
  16. modem in a Tadpole SPARCbook).
