- TOPIC: Relational Database Management - The
- Next Generation

- The emphasis of the seminar will be a generic presentation on databases;
- only the technology or theory behind the database will be presented.
- Included will be fast moving discussions of hierarchical, network and
- relational structures. We will also hear about new technology buzzwords
- and how these technologies work together, eg: client server, RDBMS, GUI
- and SQL.

- Our speaker for the Thursday August 20th breakfast, Lee Beel, has been
- working with database products since the early 1970's. He was a
- programmer using a product called 'TOTAL', a hierarchical database. In
- the late 1970's, he designed database systems using IDBMS. More recently,
- he has been using a relational database product called UNI-DATA.

- The seminars are open to anyone interested. We hope to use these
- seminars to learn more about what ICCA members and associates are
- doing in their technical business and, of course, to increase our
- membership roster.

- PLEASE NOTE: We must pay one check so bring exact change which we
- will collect before breakfast. Check-in will begin at 7:15 with breakfast at
- 7:30. The presentation will begin at 8:15 and the seminar will conclude
- promptly at 9:00.

- The ICCA, founded in 1976, is a national not-for-profit organization
- which offers independent consultants a forum for networking and
- exchanging ideas with other professionals. ICCA provides its members
- with a variety of services including educational programs on marketing
