  40. Actually, the technician in question IS a very honest and skilled
  41. person and I recommend his place to anyone who asks.  I know that I am
  42. quite fortunate in this respect since I have had some experience with
  43. the "other" kind of mechanics [Who, in my book, rate close to car
  44. salespeople].  What I didn't write in my original post was that they
  45. had already earned some money on that day since they had changed the
  46. oil/oil-filter and replaced 3 tires (the 4th one is in good condition
  47. and the tread pattern is the same as the new ones) on my car.  Now, I
  48. think that it is ethical if I take his advice and try to change the
  49. relay (after I find it, i.e.) for the wipers.  The technician, by
  50. trying the "quick-fix" method created a sense of good will and made a
  51. loyal customer (a smart move).  I, on the other hand, am trying to
  52. save some money (also not un-smart, IMHO).  Do you still think that I
  53. should get it done by him? Is it unethical if I do it myself?
