  13.  Good cold starting and poor hot starting often means an excessively rich
  14. mixture at idle or part throttle. If you smell gas then suspect a leak
  15. somewhere. Some carbs have construction which is prone to leaking from
  16. the bowl to the intake. If the choke doesn't open properly from gum or
  17. a messed up mechanism, that will also hurt.
