  16. i've got a friend who isn't able to post but can read news!
  17. So i will post his request for him.

  22. When i start the startx script or 'xinit...' my
  23. system hangs after printing the message:

  25.         X386 Version  1.2E 1.0.1  / X Window System
  26.         (protocol version 11, revision 0, vendor rlease 5000)

  28. Keys pressed are printed on screen (console) but there
  29. is no reaction.
  30. Only about 3 times the desktop appeared.
  31. After reboot there is a coredump left.
  32.  
  33. My system:
  34.     80486-33, 8MB ram
  35.     520MB Fujitsu-HD
  36.     Adaptec 1542B
  37.     Genius mouse
  38.     Cherry keyboard
  39.     400MB BSD partition + 32MB swap space
  40.     VGA with ET4000
  41.  
  42. Does anybody know how to solve my problem?
