  12. What am I missing? I'm trying to upgrade to A/UX 2.0.1 (I've been out
  13. of the country for awhile) and I cannot get the checksums to match.

  15. I ftp a copy from aux.support.apple.com & it sits on my Sparc. Checksum is
  16. okay. Since my Mac and Sparc are separated by 8 miles I dial into the Sparc
  17. and download the 9M onto my Mac (5 hour phone call, fortunately in my "local"
  18. calling area). Look at the file under A/UX and the checksums fail:

  20. I've used White Knight with filtering & MacBinary turned off.
  21. I've used Zterm with filtering & MacBinary turned off.
  22. I've downloaded onto a Mac disk under MacOS.
  23. I've downloaded onto a Unix disk in 24-bit mode of A/UX. (still using a Mac
  24. application, since I haven't connected the modem up under A/UX yet.)

  26. When I look at the binary which was downloaded onto a UNIX disk (/tmp) I see
  27. an Apple Single file, so I fcnvt -d, yielding two files, but the data file
  28. doesn't match the checksum.

  30. When I copy from a Mac partition to a Unix partition, I've tried not touching
  31. the finder attributes (sum fails). I've tried changing finder attributes to
  32. "BIN ", "A/UX" (sum is different, but still fails). In most every case, the
  33. resulting file is recognized as a compressed file, sometimes it decompresses
  34. okay, but in that case, cpio fails to complete (fortunately I'm not doing this
  35. in the root directory for these tests.)

  37. I've just written the file, using bar, to a number of floppies which I'll
  38. transfer via suntar to my mac later tonight.
