- Hello;
-
- Once again I need to ask for help.
-
- first...I would like to run Eudora1.2.2 with A/UX as the server. When I
- try to access my mailer Eudora tells me that the server came half way up then
- crapped out. I think I need a pop server since it looks like A/UX does not
- come with one. I am currently using elm and the sendmail deamon. Where can
- I get a pop server?
-
- second...I am trying to set up nn to access the network news. I would like
- use nntp. I ftp nntp1.5.9 from jagubox, and compiled the code. I then tried
- to install the client (i.e. inews) When ever I try to access inews, I get
- the following message "nntp/tcp: Unknown service." I set up a file that has
- the name of the remote nntp server in it, and I put its address in my
- /etc/hosts file. Inews seems to find the info OK since it echos back to me
- that it can not find the nntp host at the address I provided to it.
-
- I am totally dumbfounded by this nasty situation. The building of nntp, and
- nn seemed easy. Yet I can not get it to work.
-
- Thanks in advance--robert rainer rainer@pandoras-box.path.med.ufl.edu
