  11. It seems that you have to ask for the 4.0.5 update, but now that
  12. EVERYONE is asking, the TAC is giving ship date into next month.

  14. Now, why not distribute it by a one time only anon ftp account
  15. on sgi.com ? You get a password that expires one day after you
  16. use it with your paid subscription.

  18. That should reduce the cost of the distribution to almost nothing. No
  19. tapes, no CD's. Only the cost of telling someone a one shot password,
  20. and the procedure to ftp an inst'able image from the net.

  22. While this may enrage some who who do not have ftp access, it
  23. will make us net creatures very happy.

  25. I am certain some bright fellow at sgi can engineer one shot distribution
  26. accounts. Sort of a public/private key distribution system. If I even
  27. think about it for a few min, I can see how simple it would be...

  29. And I know how much SGI likes to save money!
