  20. The instructions are quite clear.  It is called 'installing software'
  21. (well, > 95% of it is).  The Installation Guide is quite clear on all
  22. of that.  That process will make filesystems if required, so you
  23. don't need to worry about that much.

  25. The only other piece of info that you need is that fx will create
  26. the partition layout.  In fact, by default fx will do almost all
  27. of the initialization you need when it notices that the disk doesn't
  28. yet have a volume header on it.  The only other thing you would have
  29. to do is to change the partition tables if you don't like the default
  30. (the top level repartition menu makes this easy).

  32. The Installation Guide even contains instructions on how to boot
  33. the standalone fx from the various types of installation media,
  34. and how to determine which fx to boot (there are several different
  35. versions, depending on your hardware type).

  37. If after reading the Installation Guide, something still isn't clear,
  38. please let me know.  I spent a lot of time working with the author
  39. if the I.G. to make it very straightforward and simple.
