- As an owner of a Q900, I'm happy that Apple came out with it when
- they did and didn't wait for the faster parts needed for the Q950.
-
- So the Q950 is out now. Does that make my Q900 any slower? Nope.
- It's still a very fast Macintosh and I'm very happy with it. I recently
- upgraded it with even more RAM and I'll probably buy a faster, bigger
- Hard disk in the next 12 months to keep it growing. In a few years I will
- again buy the top of the line Mac (hopefully a very fast PowerPC based Mac).
-
- Computer models are a very fast moving target. There will *always*
- be a faster model out real-soon-now. So jump in, grab what's available
- TODAY, and get ready to do it again in X months (where X is different
- for every one).
-
- I personally use a Mac to do development work daily, i.e. it's easy
- to justify buying a faster Mac fairly often. I was using a Mac IIci
- for quite some time (I bought a cache card as a midlife kicker).
- I skipped the Mac IIfx and waited around for the Quadra. I'll probably
- skip the next faster Mac (not counting the 950) and go for a PowerPC
- late in 93 (or so).
