- I mentioned it before in my last "recent files" posting, but just to push
- the list a little bit further (and correct a bungled typo), here's
- the list of mirror sites for mac.archive.umich.edu that I know about...
-
- for Austrailia, "archie.au" has a very up-to-date mirror in
- "/micros/mac/umich"
- in the United Kingdom, "doc.ic.ac.uk" has a so-so up-to-date
- mirror in the "/mac/umich" directory (some of the files still
- in there are out of date, notably the "00archivebeingkilled" file,
- which is no longer applicable... don't worry, our archive isn't
- going anywhere for a long while!
- And here in the U.S., "wuarchive.wustl.edu" has a closer-to-up-to-date
- mirror in the "mirrors/archive.umich.edu/mac" directory.
-
-
- All of these sites have access to a special machine that has been set up
- solely for mirrors to do their work off of. If you or some hardware
- guru you know has a good amount of disk space and cpu to spare, could
- handle the accolades of appreciation from folks near you who could use
- a mirror, why not consider setting up a mac.archive.umich.edu of your
- own! For details, drop me a note at "mike@mac.archive.umich.edu". We
- can have you set up for mirroring fast fast fast.
-
- Coming soon to mac.archive (do NOT send me e-mail on this yet, it's just
- about ready to go now, I'll announce it...), an e-mail file retrieval
- server!
-
- And to get files to us via e-mail, send your binhexed goodies to
- "macgifts@mac.archive.umich.edu". Not only will we get it, but so will
- seven other Macintosh ftp sites around the world. What a great deal...
