- I would like to ask everyone out there in netland for
- their words of wisdom regarding a system I am thinking of
- buying.
- A mailorder company on East coast (Quantex) is selling a
- 386/40Mhz system which was rated very highly by PC Sources. My
- question is has anybody dealt with Quantex, and if so, what are
- your impressions of their operation.
- My second question is I am considering getting the same
- components as they use via a local (small) company, which
- therefore has the advantage of easy access if things go wrong.
- Is there any advice you can give me regarding this approach -
- with the same componenets can I expect a different performance?
- The components I would like to use are as follows.
- AMD 386 40Mhz chip
- Western Digital 125 Mb HD
- Diamond Speedstar Plus with Sierra HiColor
- RAMDAC
- Intel Smart Cache chip..
-
-
- I am new to the PC scene, so if anybody has anything bad
- to say against any of these, please let me know..
- I am sorry if these questions are somewhat vague, but I
- have a million and one ideas about what to do..
-
- thanks,
- Steve
