- The most likely reason for the vertical shrinking on your screen in 1024*768
- versus the other modes: polarity of V- and H-sync signals. (ie. four
- possibilities +/+ +/- -/+ and -/-). And incorrect polarity combination will
- usually result in either the vertical size completely overshooting the
- display, or shrinking to about 1/2 the display size, or else totally screwing
- up the image :).
-
- The vgamode program Diamond supplies with the old Speedstars (ET4000 based)
- has custom monitor settings which allow you to fool around with the V- and
- H-sync polarity, as well as horizontal centering of the screen in each mode.
- It may work with your ET4000 card...
-
- Once the program is configured, you have to put it in your autoexec (not
- a TSR, it just sets the card's parameters at bootup and exits)...should
- solve your problem. You might have the program on one of your driver disks...
- the "generic" ET-4000 manuals usually neglect to mention this.
