- I would disagree. I've been using two 486 PC's now for months, as has
- most of my department, without a hitch. From your earlier advice, you
- suggested buying a bunch of parts as cheaply as possible and putting
- together a system. Perhaps there's something to be said against
- that, since you do get what you pay for. Could it be the problems
- you've seen are resulting from "economic tradeoffs?" There's no
- evidence, that I know of, to support the "486's are buggy" statement.
- Read PC Mag or Byte. You never see these sorts of problems in their
- reviews. And, my experience, and that of those I work with, shows 486's
- to be completely solid.
