- Please excuse me if this isn't the correct place to post, but I`m at the
- end of my rope.
-
- I`m trying to hook up an HP7580 drafting plotter to a Sun SPARC2. I have tried
- a couple of different printcap entries, but none seem to work. All that happens
- is the error light on the plotter going on. I get no error messages on the
- Sun side.
-
- Here are the settings on the plotter:
- 9600 baud
- RS232 cable in the "TERMINAL" port (straight through cable)
- RS232 dip switch settings: Parity OFF/ODD
- Full Duplex
- Hardwire
- Normal
-
- It is connected to the TTYA port of the sun. I have tried a very vanila
- entry, that looks like:
- hp7580|hp|local D size HP pen plotter:\
- :lp=/dev/ttya:\
- :mx#:sh:\
- :br=#9600:\
- :sd=/usr/spool/hp7580:\
- :st=/usr/spool/hp7580/status:\
- :lf=/usr/spool/hp7580/errorlog:
-
- .. and other more complicated entries, but they all cause the error light to
- go on on the plotter.
-
- Can anyone give me a clue as to what is going on? Could I have a hardware
- problem with the plotter?
-
-
- Advance gratitudes for any help you can give me!!
