- We've been successfully using a "Fortress" UPS from Best Technology on our
- HP9000/380. I'd imagine it would do an equally fine job for the 700 series.
- Relevant information is:
-
- Best Technology, Inc.
- Rt #1, Box 106
- Necedah, WI 54646
-
- Model: LI1.3KVA
-
- Other models are available, as well. I don't know the cost, as I wasn't
- involved in that aspect of the purchase.

-
- Their UPS models come with source for a program to monitor the serial port
- in a simplistic but effective manner. I got it to work on our system in
- less than half an hour. The only drawback is that they *don't* give you
- the complete description of the command interface to the UPS, all you
- get is what the program itself does. They are more than happy to sell
- you a developers kit which includes said description, but it was decided
- that we didn't really need it, and didn't want to pay for it.
-
- Hope this helps...
