- Might have to blame your hardware here - cheapo clones (like I have) don't come
- with nice UART serial crds, usually. (mine didn't.) If you look at your serial
- card and don't see a chip called '16550' you should think about getting one.
- You probably have a 8250 or 16450 at the moment, which just doesn't cut it
- for multitasking. The 16550 should help your lost character problem.

- Well, I don't know. I used to have an Amiga but I think OS/2 LOOKS much nicer
- at least. The 16550 will help your serial comms a lot. The Amiga has much better
- serial ports standard, but since it's designed as a multitasker from day 1
- it uses a better system for IO, and doesn't rely on an edge-triggered interrupt
- which is easy for the CPU to miss. Persevere!
