- A bot can't see everyone on the net. Simple. A server can.

- Monitor is not a server. It's a service, (yes yes.. I know it has no S line
- as of course we all know there is only ONE person with the service code).
- To do what it does, it requires the information that a server can see, and
- not a bot. It has no obligation to return every peice of information that
- a server would, yet it returns, TRACE, and ADMIN. What else do you really
- need to verify what it is?

- You are absolutely totally wrong. monitor is used by admins throughout
- the US to look up stats on various sites. The reason it's not the same
- as using /links and /lusers is that it keeps a continuous record. IT
- remembers EVERYONE in the US domains that has used IRC. It's got a database
- with every subdomain.top-domain pair in the country from which someone
- has used irc and it keeps track of exactly how many people from a
- given domain have used irc. This is useful for finding out whether a
- site has any local users and whether they need a server, etc etc.

- I'm sorry that monitor can't do anything for *.au or the rest of the world
- but that's life. It's a valuable service. I'd rather see Nickserv bite it
- than monitor.
