  10. I have a customer who has noticed that MX (3.1C) modifies the From: lines of
  11. his messages, e.g.,
  12.  
  13.         From: foo@bar.baz (Name)
  14.  
  15. turns into:
  16.  
  17.         From: <foo@bar.baz>
  18. His specific complaint is that information is being lost in the translation,
  19. the "(Name)" goes away.  I haven't poured over the RFCs enough to know if this
  20. sort of rewriting is reasonable, but why would MX be rewriting the From:
  21. portion of the envelope?  The other question is: should MX be preserving the
  22. rest of the information in the line instead of just dropping it?
