  12. I picked up this message off a BBS and am wondering whether William
  13. Steen, mentioned in the article, was active in NAMBLE; or whether he was not:
  14. Here's the message, I didn't get the paper cite other than knowing that the
  15. story was printed in the Sacramento (Ca.) Bee:

  17.  The man was William Steen from somewhere in Silicon Valley. He was using his
  18. computer system to distribute child porn as well as to contact boys. He even
  19. visited one boy in Sacramento and took him out for pizza, though he didn't
  20. make sexual overtures at that time. He did, however, give the boy computer
  21. equipment as a gift and included some pornography. He was arrested on child
  22. porn charges, which may have included distribution of porn to minors. While in
  23. jail, he offered $2000 to an undercover officer to have the Sacramento boy
  24. killed, since he was a potential prosecution witness. Murder solicitation
  25. charges are being added to Steen's case. All of the above allegations were
  26. cited in Tony Bizjak's article in the Sacramento Bee on Friday, January 15.

  28.  The man at the SPCUG meeting on Wednesday was Bill Spernow, who is a private
  29. investigator and works on such cases with the Department of Justice. He was a
  30. bit heavy-handed in his presentation, but he was trying hard to get people to
  31. take the dangers seriously. He definitely startled many people in the
  32. audience. The Bee may yet do a follow-up story.

  39. confirm or deny this guy's participation in their organization.
