- The 6yr old FVH-960 that I have started the squealing about a year ago and
- died a few weeks after that. It needed new belts/capstan. Cost about
- $120. Bad idea. Should've bought a new one. (It also ate a tape as well
- when it died. ;-( )
-
- Now, a year later, it is in the early stages of dying again. Buttons on
- the console work erraticly and so forth. I just purchased a new Hi-Fi VCR
- anticipating the Fisher's death. Maybe I can do some tape editing now that
- I have 2 VCR's (for as long as the 960 lives).
-
- Consumer reports rated Fisher as having the highest repair rate of *ANY*
- VCR maker. The 960 has very good sound and audio, but I would avoid future
- Fisher VCR's. Look at Sony and JVC.
