  12. I had always suspected that AAA would not deal with motorcycles, but
  13. recently, when a friend had his car towed, AAA asked him if he wanted
  14. a towtruck or a flatbed (it seems that at least in some sections of
  15. the country, you can request this).  Well, I've had my bike towed
  16. before on a flatbed (although it looks pretty lonely up there by
  17. itself, all sick and not working well), so I decided to give them a
  18. call.  I got a lecture for five minutes by the person manning the
  19. emergency phone saying that the second A in AAA stands for
  20. automobile.  My conversation went basically like this:

  22. operator:  Triple A emergency road services, may I help you.
  23. me:  yes, hello, do you by tow motorcycles?
  24. operator:   No sir, we do not.  We do not tow motorcycles.  If you
  25.             were to read your tripel A by-laws, you would realize that
  26.             we do not tow motorcycles.  No, we do not tow
  27.             motorcycles.  We can not tow motorcycles, we work with
  28.             four wheeled vehicles only.
  29. (It was at this point that I wanted to call a friend with an ATV and
  30. really piss her off.  She did say four wheeled vehicles).

  32. Anyway, the next towing service I called was an AAA affiliated tower
  33. that used a flatbed.  I didn't use him, because he was too expensive,
  34. but please, tell me why AAA will not let me use their membership that
  35. I paid for, for towing, when the place I called was AAA affiliated.
  36. Is there any sort of AAA for motorcycles (you know, cheap or free
  37. towing, help on the road, gas if you run out, etc, etc, etc)?
