  13. Dealers will always blame the owner for problems unless it
  14. is VERY obvious. Back in 73 I bought a Vega GT and loved it
  15. till the first engine went at 14k, cost me $700 to get it
  16. inspected for the "etching" problem they had with the aluminum
  17. block, I ended up eating the motor even though it had a life
  18. time guarantee from Quaker State THEIR excuse was I didn't
  19. have the oil changes done at an "Approved" dealer ($35 a pop)
  20. I got my oil and filters at the Navy Exchange for $1.50 for
  21. the Fram filter and $.60 for the QUAKER STATE oil w/receipt.
  22. Well when the second engine went at 27k I took it to Motion
  23. Mini-car and had a 350/400hp w/t400 and detroit rear put in.
  24. It took me 10 years to buy a GM product again and I still havent
  25. touched QUAKER STATE products and will in fact go out of
  26. my way to avoid QUAKER STATE, GOODRICH, FIRESTONE and
  27. oxygenated fuels.
