- Well, unformtunately, the figures mean nothing without some indication
- of how many miles were travelled on motorcycles. If travel by bike
- halved in the last five years, as well as the death rate - then so
- what?

- Mind you, being a dumb government, they don't care *how* they get the
- death rate down, whether its by discouragement (multiple driving tests
- for bikes, etc) or by training. I guess they probably feel good -
- silly f*ckers.

- In terms of insurance, I suspect the rates are rather more linked to
- theft than death nowadays. When bike manufacturers come up with
- reasonable deterrents, then maybe the insurance will go down. However,
- adding that deterrent cost the manufacturer money, so the bike price
- goes up, so your insurance rises......
